Here's a request for help from the Third Unitarian Church in Chicago.
"In response to growing needs in the Austin community, Third Unitarian Church recently launched an outdoor pop-up pantry on Saturdays, 10am-Noon, at the church. In
our first six weeks, we have already served over 200 members of the
Austin community to get food and other essentials as the COVID crisis
and ongoing racial inequalities hit communities like Austin hardest. We are partnering with Praise Temple of the Restoration congregation and Thankful for Chicago,
and we have received donations not only from our congregations and
partners but also from ComEd for LED Lightbulbs and Brave Space
Alliance; and we are working on adding new partners every week!
There are many ways you can provide support - including messages of encouragement, helping spread the word, volunteering, and donations. Financial donations to purchase pantry items can be made via the TUC website here. Select "TUC Pantry" from the Special Donation menu, or send a check to Third Unitarian Church, 301 N. Mayfield, Chicago 60644 with "TUC Pantry" in the memo. You can also complete this form if you'd like to volunteer, and we will be in touch soon.
If you have any questions, ideas for new partnerships, or other ways you'd like to get involved, please contact our TUC Pantry Coordinator, Carley Mostar, at: TUCPantry@gmail.com"
